OINOCHOE DER «COOK-KLASSE» H. 18.4 cm. Ton, schwarzer Glanzton, weisse Farbe. Attisch, 2. Viertel 5. Jh.v.C.Plastisches Gefäss in Gestalt eines Frauenkopfes mit Kleeblattmündung und hochgezogenem, elegant geschwungenem Stabhenkel. Die das Haar zusammenhaltende Haube, Ausguss und Henkel gefirnisst, schwarzer Streifen am Fuss. Das Gesicht von feinen Haarwellen gerahmt. Brauen, Kontur der Augen und der Iris sowie die Pupille schwarz, die Augenwinkel weiss. Zusammengesetzt, ein kleiner Teil des Henkels ergänzt. Feine Risse retuschiert.Provenienz: Privatslg. Clay, black glaze, white paint. Attic, 2nd quarter 5th cent. B.C.Sculpted vessel with trefoil mouth and high, elegantly arched round handle. The bonnet holding the hair in place, spout and handle all black-glazed; black stripe around the foot. The face is framed by fine, wavy hair. The eyebrows, line of the eyes, irises and pupils are black, the corners of the eyes white. Reassembled; minor restoration work on the handle. Fine cracks retouched.Provenance: Private Coll.
