Diese Werbefigur wurde um 1930 von der Firma „Prof. Lauermann“ hergestellt. Das berühmte Werbemotiv der Firma Brinkmann Tabake aus polychrom handgefasstem Gips zeigt einen figural ausgestalteten Tabakpflücker im Halbrelief. Er trägt einen breitkrempigen Hut, ein ärmelloses Oberteil, eine Arbeitshose und Sandalen. Mit einem breiten Lächeln präsentiert er eine übergroße Tabakschachtel des Bremer Tabakherstellers „Brinkmann“. Diese stützt er auf den Oberschenkel des Beins, das er auf einen Felsen gestellt hat. Große Tabakblätter hinterfangen seine Gestalt. Sie liegen im Korb unter ihn und hängen über seinen angewinkelten Arm mit dem er die Schachtel hält. Auf ihr prangt der Name der beworbenen, extra fein geschnittenen Tabaksorte „Translanta“.

Die Figur ist in einem guten, optisch ansprechenden Zustand mit nur kleinen Bestossungen hier und da. Lediglich das Mittelfeld auf der Zigarettenschachtel ist verblichen. Rückseitig befindet sich das Herstelleretikett „Prof. Lauermann Detmold“. Die Maße betragen 53,5 x 33,5 x 16,5 cm (Höhe x Breite x Tiefe).

Optically appealing appearance

This advertising display was produced around 1930 by the manufacturer “Prof. Lauermann”. The famous motif of the company Brinkmann Tabake made from polychromatic, hand-painted plaster shows a figurally shaped, semi-sculptured tobacco-picker wearing a broad-brimmed hat, a sleeveless shirt, work trousers and sandals. With a big smile he presents an oversized cigarette pack – which he supports with the thigh of his leg standing on a rock – of the Bremen tobacco manufacturer “Brinkmann”. Large tobacco leaves frame his figure. They lie in the basket underneath him and hang over his bent arm that holds the box, on which the name of the advertised, extra finely-cut tobacco brand, “Transatlanta”, is displayed.

The display is in good, visually appealing condition with only small bumps here and there. Merely the middle area of the cigarette pack faded. The manufacturer’s label, “Prof. Lauermann Detmold”, is located on the reverse side. The dimensions are 53.5 (height) x 33.5 (width) x 16.5 (depth) cm.
