Dieser sehr fein ausgeführte und perspektivisch reizvolle Kupfertisch von Ferdinand de Meys zeigt die „Allégorie de l'avènement du Tsar Alexandre Ier“, die Apotheose Zar Alexanders I. (1777-1825), der 1801 nach der Ermordung seines Vaters auf den russischen Thron gelangte.
Der Kupferstich weist deutliche Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren auf, die aber nicht die ästhetische Qualität mindern. Es gibt Risse an den Ecken und entlang der Blattränder. Das Blatt misst 70 x 50 cm.

This delicately executed and perspectivally enticing copperplate print by Ferdinand de Meys shows the ‘Allégorie de l’avènement du Tsar Alexandre ler’, the apotheosis of Tsar Alexander I (1777-1825), who took the Russian throne after his father was murdered in 1801.
The copperplate engraving displays signs of age-related wear and use, but neither affecs the aesthetic quality of piece detrimentally. There are tears along the corners and edges. It measures 70 x 50 cm.
