Dual-Toned Stock Hudson Valley Fowler, c. 1760. 55 in., .75 caliber barrel with ring decoration at the breech and London Company of Gunmakers' proof marks with '*/RW' mark for Richard Wilson on the left side, brass blade front sight and flaring muzzle; convex surface lock plate with pointed tail marked 'WILSON' below the pan; dual-tone tiger maple stock with the relief leafy carving in a noticeably lighter color around the lock mortice, side plate plateau, trigger guard and entry pipe, double line carving along the barrel and rammer channels; brass furniture including trigger guard with flame finial and foliate scroll engraved bow, butt plate with foliate scroll engraving, thumb piece with scroll engraving, flat cloud form side plate with engraved shell and scrolls, three sheet brass rammer pipes and an entry pipe; steel rammer with button head and plain end. Overall lg. 70 3/4 in. Condition: Barrel toned to deep brown; lock toned to deep brown, cock retaining screw is replaced; stock has some splits and sliver losses along the rammer channel; brass toned to deep yellow.
