A PAIR OF CONTINENTAL FLINTLOCK HOLSTER PISTOLS, second quarter of the 18th century. 12 in., .58 caliber barrels with reeded breech section; foliate engraved lock plates with pointed tails; walnut stock with carved plateaus around the lock mortice, side plate, breach plug tang, barrel and rammer channels; brass furniture including butt cap with long ears, thumb pieces with engraved figure wearing a cap, flat foliate engraved side plates with pointed tails, trigger guards with foliate finials, two rammer pipes, steel rammers. Overall lg. 19 in. Condition: Iron has gray mottling and very light pitting; stocks have dings, dents, and scattered insect holes; brass toned to yellow, actions function properly.
